I know this sounds like the start of a Les Dawson joke, but it isn't....!

My wife is a good driver, but...

OK, she is a pretty safe driver and hasn't ever had or caused a major accident despite driving 15 - 20k miles per year. However, she does have some 'awareness' problems. These translate on the motorway as leaving indicating and changing lanes too late, so she gets sort of 'herded' along in a lane she doesn't want to be in. I genuinely think that it is a combination of cocentration issues and the way that she prefers to process information (for those aware of representation systems and NLP she is very much kinesthetic and in Kohlb/Honey and Mumford terms she is a reflector).

Of course the problem is that she won't listen to my guidance because I am her husband - some sort of unwritten law or charter that prevents a spouse from listening to you! (Honest, I really don't holler and shout).

Another issue is that she seems to be continually kerbing her alloys and posting the corners of the car. Only cosmetic damage, but damage all the same - which should not be occuring. Today she seems to have cliped a wall or corner of a skip and has csrapped and slightly dented another corner of her car.

She has now recognised that just fixing the car is not the answer - and has bought in that she needs some sort of awareness training - but is there anything suitable that she can book onto. The motorway driving issues I believe would be addressed by some Advanced Driving Lessons, but I'm not sure that would necessarily sort out her judgement issues with parking and manouevering.

Any ideas from the PH massive/collective (BTW she is NOT insured to drive the TVR!!!!).

Sounds like her m'ways problems are due to her not looking far enough ahead. Most advanced road training will revolve around greater forward planning and awareness.

As for the alloys? How about a cheap set of steelies?!

Yeah, thought that about the driver training.

As for the steelies - it's not just the wheels; both wing mirrors have scrapes, and at least two corners/bumpers. Now she's dented a rear wing. So preventative as well as remedial is required....

Errm, not very helpful when she has 75 miles as a round trip per day.

IAM or Rospa will be cheap and effective for both these issues.

And being aware of what's behind. My other half's the same. Doesn't look in the mirror until she actually wants to change lane; and then of course she can't tell from one glance what speed traffic is approaching at so has to wait and find out, by which time she's trapped @ 56mph behind that lorry with a constant stream of traffic going by.

Dunno, but I reckon they'll help with minor kerb damage.
