I am planning to set up a rolling road session for my 95 Chimaera 500.

I suspect that my engine is a little bit on the weak side.

What BHP or PS should the enigne deliver and what is the (lower) limit to be alarmed?

Thanks

Had a limited rolling road sesh on my chim 95 last year. Although we couldn't fire her all the way up (started to pink...) I was told that typical BHP is about 270.... Maybe I'll try again now that the pinking seems to be a tihng of the past!
kev.

200 - 210 hp at the flywheel for a std 4.0L according to the people who know last time I spoke with them. Post rechip/tune lucky to get over 240hp.

250-265 hp for a 5.0L. Post rechip/tune lucky to get 280-290, but some have got nearer 300hp.

Do a search in the Engines section for more info, recent rolling road reports etc.

Mark Adams is your man (he's on PH sometimes).

Unless you pay his expenses Maybe time for a driving trip to the UK (I think Mark did a tuning session in the Belgium/NL last year too).

Late on this - been out.

How does a r/r measure power at the flywheel? Or do the people there just guestimate the losses from the drivetrain etc?
