A chap near me has had a few interesting cars over the last few years: M Coupe, Cosworth RS500, MK2 RS2000 are a few I remember.

Presently, he has:

Focus RS MK2
Escort RS Cosworth
Chevette HS
Mini Cooper S Convertible.

Quite a nice hot hatch collection IMO.

Any interesting collections near you?

Down the road from me a chap has a large collection of Rolls Royces, all stored in climate controlled barns. He has a trench around the home and automatic rising pillars in the drive way to prevent them being stolen. Unfortunately I have never been in there to see them as they keep themselves to themselves, I have never even seen them being driven.

When I used to live in East Sussex our car fanatic neighbour had a collection of about 10 E type Jags, again stored in a climate controlled barn. There were some beautiful cars in there. He also had various other sports cars and used to race Porsches at brands hatch

Most of the folks in our estate have the usual junk like Corsas, Merivas, stroens (I mean, we have an '05 Mondeo and an '01 Almera in our driveway, yawn).

Most vaguely interesting is the guy next door who has a S3 and a tuned Cooper S.

Nothing near me. Mondeos and Volvos etc in the main, with a Nissan Micra thrown in for good measure.

My neighbour has a passion for Matra cars.

1975 Murena 2.2 (I think it is) with 295,000km on the clock.
Talbot Tagora 2.2
Renault Avantime (built by Matra)
and one of Matra's electric bikes
they're all immaculate as he's particularly anal about cleaning them

His daily driver is a Merc SLK 300.

Down my parents' road there's a guy who currently has:

997 Porsche Carrera 4S
Renault Megane R26.R
VW Scirrocco (not sure of exact spec as it's only turned up in the last week or so)

In the past 12 months he's got rid of:

Audi RS4 Avant
Renault Clio V6 MK2

Although I've never spoken to the bloke, when I took the Scooby round to show the olds for the first time, he was coming out of his driveway in the Clio V6 and gave me a big grin and thumbs up. Definitely a petrolhead! thumbup Doesn't have any PH stickers in any of the cars though.

bloke down my road has a v8 vantage, new 911, focus RS (given to him by ford for a while) and an rs200 he built up himself, with a nice 450hp....

then around the estate (gated housing bit) are a handful of 430s...mix of 911s, an e63 and a few bentleys, not bad!

Oh!!! a guy on the next street has a red mk2 MR2!!! Its his second one, he used to have a green one but it came back one day with a bit of damage. Guess he's really enthusiastic about MR2s though!

A Couple of Subaru's around aswell... Nothing that special though. Occasionally have a 205 GTI kicking about, think he just visits friends, and there's a Nissan Pulsar GTIR a wee bit down aswell...

When I was in my mid teens there was a bloke who lived down our road who was restoring a 3.5l Marcos Adams. I remember popping into his garage to give him a hand. Then one day he just vanished, was really odd.

One bloke in the village has a V8 Vantage, VW Mk4 R32, and a Maserati 4200. Another has an SLK, Mini JCW, and a Ferrari 430.

There's a guy nearby who built his own house with a 4-car garage underneath and a detached double garage, they must be full 'cos his two dailies are on the drive.

The only thing is I haven't seen any of his cars apart from a vile yellow hummer. Most irritating as he must have some good stuff to have designed his new house to be able accommodate 6 cars...
