In the title really, I've just been and voted and I could vote for up to three people in the local election, how does it work and by voting for three people (in my case all from the same party) have I fked it up?
Is it just me that's uneducated on this or is it a surprise for other people?

Each warrd in a local election is usually represented by three councillors.

Therefore you get to vote for three of them.

Never heard of that one in the 35 years I've been voting.

In Reading we vote for only one of the 3 councillors in our ward as the votes are staggered across 4 years (so we also miss out every 4th year).

This means we get lots of chances to vote, but large changes in the council are harder.

Same here three votes. Managed to tick a cross in the UKIP box, which was nice.
