Surely it depends which constituency you are in.
It is only done at 130 (around there) polling stations. There are a few thousands of them. They then take every 10th/13th/whatever number who walks out. If the person refuses that vote is classed as nothing. So another person isn't asked.
So it is unlikely many, if not any, will have been polled.
The tellers are the people who take your reg number are just so you can track turn out and the party polictical faithful. So they can see where they need to hit.

Sort of, on my way out, I was greeted with several not hot women, on the basis that they weren't hot, I decided that I would walk past quickly, minimal eye contact and make reference to me having to get to the pub.
They weren't part of the official exit polls then. They only approach a specific number of people in a set order, and will approach you.
If you refuse to fill in a replica ballot paper, then you have been a number on the list. That just wastes the vote.
