Took my fleet car to Kwik Fit for a puncture repair/replacement tyre, slow puncture lasted about two weeks between 'blow ups', nice man told me he cant get a tyre 'coz its a weird size' so just to 'help' me he's pulled offending the screw out, now goes flat in about four hours. 2010 Mazda 6 has 205 60 16 tyres which Quick Fit tell me they can't get.

A call to their mobile fleet serviced in the morning then if no joy then fleet company, then if no joy the car hire company, I think.

Why do manufacturers sell cars with no spare tyre and only a temporary can of tyre glue, on a sports car yes, but a daily hack?

Alloy wheels are expensive. Go for the 15 inch steels and the full size spare next time, it rides much more nicely...

Big mistake. If you'd taken it to a place that didn't suffer from arse/elbow identification problems you'd have a repaired or new tyre by now.

So, who is thicker? The Kwik Fit fitter or the Petrol Head who went there?!

I agree, but it is the ONLY place that I'm allowed to take it, fleet and company policy.

Someone involved in this thread is incompetent

I just put your tyre specs in the KF website and easily found a tyre

My own recent experience at Kwikfit ended with me bunging the manager a wodge of cash to take his fellas out for a pint with when they knocked off

I had received fantastic service and been charged a very competitive price
They also did some odds and ends for free which they didnt have to

Cheers

or the PH poster who thinks it's necessary to 'sign' his post with the very same moniker which sits next to his every post.

I have the same issue, lease company will only allow tyres to be done at Kwik Fit - absolutely ridiculous when you can hear the staff discussing which tyre will make them the most money before putting it through for approval.

The only place that is charged to the company or lease provider. Nothing stopping you taking it somewhere else and paying, surely?

Are you having a laugh? When Kwik Fit entered the tyre size into THEIR computer it also had some hits, but sadly no stock. Why should I 'bung' money to their branch manager, what are they gangstarrrrs!

Your having a laugh too, I travel 90% of my annual mileage on company business, I pay tax for owning the car, and you suggest I should go out and pay for maintenance on a car that after three years will be thrown throgh an auction and the sale price given to the lease company?

Why are 205/60 16's hard to get ? I got a whole list of tyres available when checking on my commonly used internet tyres delivery site.
