CRASH DRIVER IN HOSPITAL

BY JOHN FLETCHER

12:00 - 01 March 2004

A motorist was taken to hospital today with head injuries after his soft-top car left a major Devon road and crashed into a hedge. The man, who has not been named, was taken to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital by air ambulance, following the accident on the A35 at Wilmington, near Honiton, at about 7.45am.

Police said no other vehicle was involved, but traffic was delayed on the road, while the vehicle was recovered, and cleared away.

"There was a large amount of debris on the carriageway and the man was airlifted to hospital with head injuries," said a police spokeswomen. "The car ended up in a hedge by the bridge at Wilmington and no other vehicle was involved."

Local radio said this morning that if was a blue MGF. No other vehicles involved. Police are appealing for witnesses.

My just have been coincidence, or the radio has it wrong. Either way, hope all are ok.
