door handle cable snapped

In the cold snap I was out giving the Griff a turn over and when I opened the door to get out ..... crack. Think the cold made the cable brittle or something. Anyway, think the nipple has broken off and I need to get to cable on the inside handle end. Whats the best route? Do I have to get the whole middle console out? God, I hope not!

Just take the "Whale Tail" out and you can get to them easily

Aye up Duck, yep its the whale tail up and away!

Are you sure its that end thats broke? Usually its the pillar end, it slips in the lock section.

Yeah, defo the nipple with acbout 10mm of the cable attatched. Its lying on dash ready for me to sort.
Got to see if enough spare cable to do a repair.
