Sharm - Any Hotel Recommendations?
Discussion
Looking to book something for mid to late June, assuming the volcano has run out of puff by then.
Ideally somewhere with it's own beach, maybe some kind of spa thing if they didn't allow kids that would also be a bonus! Just wondering if anyone has been to a hotel that fits the above that they would recommend? Been looking on trip advisor and a lot of them seem hit and miss.

Stayed at the Tropitel Namma bay great location right in the centre of town, next to Hardrock and a few of the decent clubs shops etc, has a few pools and bars and restaurants, we went all inclusive which gets a bit boring similar food and drink in the same place.
Has its own beach but is a short walk 5 min was 5 star but really the star rating is meaningless as they compare it to other Egyptian hotels.
Passed some of the bigger hotels Hilton, Marriot resorts on the way to our hotel, but they are out of town but did look nice just isolated a bit.
Go quad biking was awesome they take you on the road off road even throught a army testing range at night all for like £10 for 2 hours.

You really want to go there? A hot Southend, without the class.....Ideally somewhere with it's own beach, maybe some kind of spa thing if they didn't allow kids that would also be a bonus! Right there, that's what I mean. You go to Egypt, which is of course in Africa, and then you stay in a place which has a (sic) Hardrock?????I really don't mean to be rude, but, WTF??????

Not sure I can wait until January though! Would I be 'allowed' to go to the Casino and drink foreign lager or is that too commercial, a la Hard Rock? Should I stick to the Jellied eel's and chips with liquor to ensure I get the true Southend?
..Thanks for your advice Cupra much appreciated.

As for Hard Rock after a week of Egyptian AI food it will seem Michellin starred, nice view over the town from the balcony too, you can actually look without being hassled.
(McDonalds delivers, which sounds awfull but you may be very, very grateful).
I recommend not staying at the Pyramisa, hotel itself is fine but food appalling.
Try and find a place thats Russian free, the ruskies here are obnoxious to put it mildly.
(Which to be fair is odd, as most i've met elswhere have been fine, must be a super cheapo place for the Russian chavs).
Marsa Alarm and Hurghada is supposed to be much nicer, though not having been i can't quote from experience, (our holiday was cancelled due to volcano).
PS don't forget the imodium, lots and lots of it. I have a cast iron stomach but even i didn't miss out on the Pharohs Revenge!
PPS Gokart track is excellent! Well worth a visit.

Is that how you spell 'culturally'? Too many beers, and now it looks wrong...
Forget sharm head north and go to Dahab, Sharm is a s
thol (IMO) full of chavs and ruskies, althought some are very very attractive.
Dahab is alot less touristy, cheaper and more relaxed.
Lots of activities in Dahab aswell.
Lots of Divecentres (would recommend Blackrock)
Windsurfing/kitesurfing (neilson+Harrynass)
The best Fillet steak I've ever had (Blue beach bar aka the furry cup)
just food for thought
only an hours drive from Sharm airport too
