There's a distinct possibility that the next one will be called on the 25th May when the vote of no confidence happens on the Queens speech.

Whilst this sort of thing has certainly happened in the past (1974 was the last time) IF whoever forms the government starts to implement the tax rises and spending cuts we all know are coming, their likelihood of them being re-elected this side of 2020 is zero.

Whichever parties finally form a government will be looking for a coalition that would last 3-5 years, hoping that the economic mess can be sorted by then, and they can throw in the carrot of tax cuts before we go to the polls.
