I'm trying to find a new daily drive, and Autotrader is offering up some cars that seem too cheap to be true...

2004 Audi A4 Avant

2006 Honda Accord

2004 Golf GT TDI

and another

Are all these scams, they seem to be a little more articulate than the normal type of scams on AT...

They dont strike me as being really really cheap, do a valuation on them and are other models of similar age and spec selling for much more?

Only one way to be sure - ring and ask about the payment options!
If the "car" is overseas and "seller" will ship it for you - you know the answer to that...

Honda on the low side, must be worth more surely?! I'm not a car dealer so don't know how much they go for normally.

Taking the Audi for example, the same car at Car Giant is £10k. http://www.cargiant.co.uk/Audi/A4/Estate/details-4...

Also, Parkers (for want of a better system) says it should retail at around £9600 for a good condition private sale...

The audi some seem to be priced on the low side, but the adverts dont come across as your typical scam adverts. Normally theres no phone number, dodgy photos and they're badly written.

The best thing to do it phone up, ask about whether they have the V5 etc. If you do go have a look make sure all the VIN numbers match up and do an online check to see whether its been stolen.
It may turn out the owner just has no idea what its worth.

EDIT: An example of what the scams normally look like http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2010...
