Hi Guys,

A stupid problem happened last night, got to a garage, filled up with fuel in the 650i (again, but thats another story...) pushed the button on the glove box to get my wallet out, heard a 'ping' and the button went slack. Guess the cable or mechanism has snapped, however I cant get the glovebox open to get anything out, hence my problem. No wallet = no fun weekend!

Does anyone have any idea how to get the glove box open? Im working all weekend, and the nearest dealer is 30miles away from me so I really need to get inside.

Any useful, relevant suggestions would be appreciated. Any pointless comments about why I shouldnt be putting my wallet in a glove box will be totally ignored :-)

Cheers

Hi guys,

Is jamming a screwdriver in to force it open really the only option?

This sounds like a rough way of doing it, and I really don't want to damage the interior.

Any other ideas?

Not sure if this is quite the right model, but you should be able to track back & restart if not. If so, it looks like a pita, without breaking something, sadly. Might be a throw at the dealer job...
