right after sorting the other few issues with my car and just getting happy with it,
The battery decided to die on me today totally randomly. i had bulb out so probably spent 10mins with ignition on and also was playing with the stereo as i have no FM signal, so had that out and back in, so all in all had ignition on for 10-15mins. Shouldnt of thought it would make it go flat..
anyway, i hoped it was a bad battery so decided to take it out and charge it up. Apart from the fact that if you disconnect the battery the alarm throws a fit and goes off. so now im fooked! dead batt that i cant take out!!
would i be correct in saying that the alarm box is behind the glove box and i should be able to take it out, get to the alarm box, disconnect this and then sort the battery.
Then i can find out what made the battery drain down so quickly. no lights on the dash however i do have a very slight belt squeel!? rather at a loss and loosing f
king patience with the car already. only had it a week ffs!

The belt squeal you mention could mean that the battery is not being charged properly, because it (the belt) is slipping on the alternator. The battery decided to die on me today totally randomly. i had bulb out so probably spent 10mins with ignition on and also was playing with the stereo as i have no FM signal, so had that out and back in, so all in all had ignition on for 10-15mins. As for the alarm issue, you could get one of those radio code saver devices (a small 12v supply that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket) which should allow you to remove the battery for charging.

Have you got a key for the alarm - the small one on the back of the siren? If not get a couple of rags / small towels and smother the siren. You'll be surprised how much that muffles it.
Have you got an aftermarket stereo? Often these don't supply a feed to the aerial amp which could explain the lack of a radio signal.
