I'm looking for accommodation in or around Cambridge over the next Bank Holiday Weekend. Not fussed whether it's hotel, B&B or country pub and would welcome any recommendations.

The only stipulation is that it has to be within walking distance of a pub and there has to be adequate safe parking.

Arundel House Hotel is pretty nice and has its own carpark. Wide choice of pubs within walking distance too.

Sorrento, Cherry Hinton, four pubs and one within staggering distance (although it's st). Best go to the Red Lion.

Arundel is good.

Crowne Place right in the centre is decent enough. Lots of good places to eat and drink around.

Doubletree Hilton is not too bad either.

If looking for something slightly more budget then stay at the University Arms Hotel. This is also right in the centre and walking distance to loads of places.

Depending what the car is I'm not sure I'd park at the Crowne Plaza, as IIRC it shares the multistorey with the main shopping centre. Wouldn't stay somewhere like that with the Caterham after a bad experience in a similar setup in France.

University Arms has probably the most secure parking of the city center hotels although (the car park) gets busy. It's not that expensive either - £100ish a night. Crowne Plaza is 'ok' but it does share the Grand Arcade (shopping center) car park which is modern and secure but I'd think twice about parking a Caterham in there.

Crowne Plaza has an Irish bar outside, and a Vodka Revolution over the road (very busy at weekends but fairly nice). Has it's own bar which is pleasant enough. University Arms has a bar and a few pubs over the road, few posh restaurants next door and an all important Pizza Hut wink

We stayed in an apartment last year - http://www.nobleo.co.uk/

Bit wacky decor, but close to the city, and has secure parking.

Thanks for that, I've emailed them for availability.

We've 2 TVRs to park up so don't fancy the Crowne Plaza.

Anywhere within a £10ish taxi ride to the City centre is fine if anyone has any other suggestions

They're on www.booking.com too if you want to check availability.
