Trunnion bolt on 1600M
Discussion
Hi,
Can anyone tell me what torque to tighten the trunnion bolt up to please? (Adrian, if you see this, your input would be much appreciated). The Triumph TR6 manual says 65 lbft but when I tried this one of the outer washers started to deform and I could not get up to 65 lbft only about 55-60. When taking off the trunnion bolt it seemed to be only lightly tightened. Secondly, I presume it is best to tighten up the bolt with the suspension in the "fully loaded" position rather than the "fully jacked up with no load on the springs" position.

Hi Brian,
I too have seen torque settings for this I have used common sense, and use 2 spanners, as tight practical as I can get using them, then back off to allow the split pin in...the rule on ride or droop applies to rubber/sleeved bonded bushes so does not apply to the trunnion. Adrian@
