This is the kind of crap the people in my small Close got up to...

After working through our papers you get from your Solicitors, myself and my direct neighbour found that our Deeds said no one can park in the access areas (and that includes about three spaces to the side of my house!).

Those with garages are allowed one car infront only.

So as of yesterday we have all agreed to stick to the rules, those with more cars (in their household) will park on the top road and no visitors are to park in the Close unless they are using one of the driveways/spaces.

It's amazing, I just hope we can all stick to it.

Is "the top road" another residential street?

If so, surely you're just moving the problem to someone else's street, possibly making things worse as the road will have cars from two streets. Plus, not sure I'd be happy parking my car on another road.

Don't get me wrong, will be great of it all works out, just wondered.

Neighbours, who'd 'ave 'em, eh?

I must admit that it is one of those problems that is hard to get rid of, but I am sure someone will suggest buying a big detached house.

Or put some sort of barrier between the two houses, you could make it out of some cheap and easily available material such as wood. Why hasn't anyone thought of this before? scratchchin

At the top of our Close there are 6-8 spaces in the Road that do not effect anyone else.

It all seems to be working out so far and PMSL today when a Grandson of a neighbour turned up in his "ride" and had to move... Twas funny as I don't like the guy but can't say why on here.

Some people are unbelievably stupid when it comes to parking. We've got big gates leading from the main road onto our drive (it's a "proper way in" too - not just a dropped kerb (worst I've got posh gates thread, ever rolleyes)) and we have actually had people visiting houses up the road park across the gates - it really is as blatant as parking across a junction. All this rather than park 15 feet further on.

The police will actually ticket them though biggrin
