I'm sure that many of you are familiar with the ridiculous postulation bandied about by Clarkson and cronies that "you are not a proper petrolhead until you've owned an Alfa".

This not an Alfa-bashing thread, so you folk with 'Alfa' in your usernames can get back in your boxes!

I just think that PHers can come up with more suitable examples to this question - a BMW M Car, a Lotus, a V8, a RWD car...what do you think?

I'm in this group, admittedly only a 1966 two door morris minor but in the wet on 145r14 tyres it handled like any two door rs2000 on gravel (Well that's what it felt like when i was 18)
