After nearly 4 years in the garage, another 350i has at last got back on the road. Passed the MOT yesterday (just), sorted a couple of minor niggles, but I ended up getting a bit of a lecture from the MOT man about the dim/dip system which doesn't appear to be working properly. It generally works fine in that the pods are up and the dimmed headlights are on when the sidelights are on, but they stay up and on when you take the keys out of the ignition. The MOT man (and I agree with him) says this is stupid as it will flatten the battery if you leave the car alone for a while. Is this a stuck relay? If so which one? I can't get the old search facility to work at the moment so could do with some advise.

Thanks Steve ( HOTTY ) for the veneers, they are now looking great and I ended up colour coding the door strips to match the bodywork which looks pretty good.

Cheers, Steve.

It looks like someone didn't think out the wiring properly. Sounds like you have a wire connected to 12v permanent that ought to be connected to 12v switched.
