mini cooper misfire

Hi.I hope someone can help. I have a 1997 mini cooper which has a engine missfire all through the rev range.I have had 2 mechanics look at it and put on diagnostic equipment and it comes up with a sensor fault so we have changed most sensors.poinst,leads.checked fuel presure an none of it has helped.Really at wits end and it has cost so much with no change.Any help would really help.

I would like to see how. Its an ecu controlled coil pack.

Hi.yes your right there arnt points i meant to right plugs. It missfires all the time as if the engine is holding back.sometimes backfires as well.seems slightly better from cold.it revs up to 5000 but you can feel it missing the whole time.the mechanic has said the ecu wont reset. could it be a ecu problem? thank you for any help
