Im wondering if anyone one can help me, a friend of mine has been given a producer to go to the local cop shop, and when she got home she found that the m.o.t had ran out by two weeks. Now she knows this is stupid, and will not hide the fact that it ran out, she has also had the car m.o.t'd since. So to my question, is she likely to be fined or get points because of this?
cheers

Get a new MOT and when you visit the plod shop make sure its at 4pm which is shift change over time (if someone can confirm the shift change time that would be helpfull)

I HAVE DONE THIS. If you are lucky you will be able to show the current MOT cert and they may not remember to "count back" to the day of the producer. As far as most of the BiB's in the cop shop the producer is fairly routine and they don't investigare too much.

Good luck!

I made the same mistake. Taken to court and fined £4. That was in 1971, might have gone up a bit since then!

Depends on local wooden tops. Many now take the view that PF in Scotland won't prosecute for this alone if no other current issues and new one now in place - not in the public interest. If however you're up for speeding etc anyway, will add this to the list.
