Are you sure you mean last year - 2009? I emailed them for 2009 dates and this was the reply:

Good morning,

Thank you for your e-mail. Due to cost cutting measures in Formula 1, all teams have significantly reduced the amount of testing through the 2009 season and as a result have opted not to come to Silverstone for a test prior to the British Grand Prix in June. Therefore I am afraid that there will not be any F1 Testing at Silverstone.

You may want to have a look at tickets for the British Grand Prix 2009, ticket prices start from £49.00 for the Friday practice, from £69.00 for the Saturday Qualifying & from £109 for the Sunday Race Day.

All tickets are selling extremely quickly and are all subject to availability and many types have already sold out! If you would like further details please view the link provided or call 08704 588 300. http://www.silverstone.co.uk/php/rm_britishGP.html

Regards,

Silverstone Circuits Ltd.

2009 was the first year of a complete in season testing ban, and that stands for this year too.

The old 3 day test was brilliant.
You had far greater access to the paddock and the teams & sponsors would be able to invite so many more people to experience it all.

Great shame it's gone. Often better than going to the race itself !

£12, Hamilton wasn't running and you could only stand between Club and Bridge. Still, nice way to enjoy the spectacle of GP cars around Silverstone.
