he shouldnt have been on the pitch anyway, but ferguson as a hateful jock wouldnt have given 2 s
ts about rooneys world cup.
Since when did ANY manager give a toss about international duty? And why should they? They and the players are paid to win domestic and European silverware, international careers are secondary and besides I very much doubt it's within Rooneys nature to cry off, if he felt he was fit he'd go for it.
ts about rooneys world cup.Fergie's job is to win as much as he can for MU. If Chelsea had lost today and MU hadn't scored, and he had "rested" Rooney, he should have been sacked (if he was a "normal manager").
Why should any manager care about international duty? They don't get any benefit from it. Ask Arsene Wenger about RV Persie and how he may have won the league, but for a nut-case in a "friendly".

WTF ?He plays for Man United in case you weren't aware.
incase you havent noticed, there is a slight thing called the world cup about to start, and rooney is our star striker, who has all sorts of niggles.
club teams are quick enough to criticise national teams when there players get injured, so if i was capello id be spitting feathers at Mcf

kFace right now.Rooney is a United player and contracted to us. In any case England will qualify top of their group with either a win & 2 draws, or 2 wins and a defeat, then get knocked out in the 1/4 finals by an African team.
At which point all the Little Ingerlanders will riot in every provincial town and blame it all on one of the many United players in the team.

kFace right now.Alex should give a care about Roo, he's been knackered lately and back playing before injuries are fully healed.
Alex may not give a s
t about the world cup, but he'd know that it means an awful lot to Rooney.
But then, Alex was doing his job today, risk all for glory. Can't knock him as a manager, only as a human being.

Ferguson as a Man United manager with 1 game left that if they'd have won could have won them the league title wouldn't have given 2 s

ts about any other game, & rightly so.Castrol Craig said:

Yeah, the biggest international tournament in football does start soon & Rooney is England's star striker. Ferguson is the manager of a club team which as I said went into the game with a chance of winning the league & so if he gave priority to an international tournament & risked the chances of the team he manages it'd be an absolute disgrace.incase you havent noticed, there is a slight thing called the world cup about to start, and rooney is our star striker, who has all sorts of niggles.

kFace right now.Was it wrong that Chelsea played Lampard, Terry & Ashley Cole? What about Drogba? Was it wrong that they put him in their team despite him being Ivory Coast's best player? All it takes is a poorly timed tackle, a bad fall or an awkward turn to put a player out of action for a few months & so any of those could have missed the world cup solely because they played for Chelsea yesterday.
Club teams are quick enough to criticise national teams when their players get injured because they pay their f
king wages for 52 weeks a year, they usually have to buy the player in the first place & then spend a fortune on facilities & coaching staff etc to keep them in top condition only for an international team to take them for nothing, use them as they wish & then send them back, more often than not in a worse condition than when they left.If I was a club manager who'd spent tens of millions of pounds on a player who was signed up to a contract of £100k/week+ & he got injured playing for the national team stopping him playing for my club I'd go absolutely f

Do you not think this may have been due to Rooney chasing the golden boot?
No. Fergy wouldn't give a stuff about him winning that. Fergy played him because he's a Manchester United player, Manchester United had a game and Rooney was deemed fit enough to start that game to help them win an important game. There's nothing more simple than that.
Yesterday had absolutely sod all to do with the national side or Rooneys season goal tally. It was all about helping United win a game. Period.

He has a month off to recover anyway.
As an england fan, yes i would love him being rested as much as possible before the world cup but who can guarantee he will turn up on top form anyway, Utd pay his wages, any player who puts england before their club is wrong, playing for england is a bonus for being one of the top players in your country, they should play with pride but not at the expense of the club you play for.
