Sag on Eurotunnel - ground clearance?

Due to the impending ash chaos, it looks as though my flight this week might get cancelled. An alternative holiday is needed! Driving to the South of France is an option!

Im sure plenty of Sag owners must have tried to take the car onto Eurotunnel... any ground clearance issues or was it pretty plain sailing? (figuratively speaking..)

yep its fine, make sure you go on the lower deck, I have never had to ask as they will looking at your car and put you there anyway.

i can confirm tamoras are fine, so i'd imagine sags will be too.

Book as a high vehicle on eurotunnel if you want to be sure you get on the lower deck.

For le mans last year my brother was not sure if his cobra (which is lower than my Chimaera) would get onto the top deck, Eurotunel suggested booking as a high vehicle as they only have 1 deck so you're guaranteed not to have to go upsairs. Same price i believe.

I've been on the top deck twice with the T350 and not had any problem with clearance

Yep, Sag is fine on eurotunnel, you will be guided to the lower deck and the French will love it.

Yep euro tunnel is a doddle now the IOM cat out of Liverpool is a different thing though it was gonna destroy my car last year.

as they said. eurotunnel is fine, just make sure you go on the lower deck. i use it regularly and have seen a number of sports cars get stuck going up top.

Agreed with the others, no issues if you get into the lower deck

Only thing I would add is watch the width, i managed to kerb my wheel on the side pedestrian bits

Maybe easier just to mount one side to avoid kerbing - or drive straight, which I couldn't do!

Thanks for the responses guys... thankfully the ash seems to have gone away so I can fly, but I'd prefer to be listening to the Sag revving down the enclosed Eurotunnel carriages rather than waiting at passport control tomorrow.

If my brother can get his Lambo on there then im sure u will not have a problem as my Sag is 10mm higher on front defuser than his Murci with standard shocks.;)

Hi guys, have a t350c, planning on slumming it on th ferry from dover to calais. Do you know if a car like mine will be able to board one of the standard P&0 type ferries without grounding?meant to be going Thursday this week!

Also, frencg law requires you to put headlight deflectors on, do you know where i can get these for a t350c?

I really struggled on the Eurotunnel with Candy, even on the lower deck, it was touch-and-go if I was going to get on, no way was I missing the Classic so gritted my teeth when the scraping noises started. Not pleasant...even the staff were covering their eyes

i've had a little bit of trouble with the ferries before but they usually have some planks of wood standing by just in case.

as for the light deflectors, shouldn't worry to much about them. Just make sure you have everything else (bulbs, high viz jackets etc...) as there the things i've found they get very stroppy about if you do get pulled.

Never had a problem on the ferries with the Tuscans, nearly always gone with Norfolk line and their staff seem very good at directing you round the worst level changes. Went sea france once and they were not so good, crammed in a bit too tight and cost at least one of our party damaged wheels.
Worth noting the high viz tops must be within arms reach inside the car and not in the boot.
Beam deflectors are available at the ferry port and only stick on to the clear plastic lenses, they are a pain to get in the right place, come off when travelling at speed and seem to be ignored by most travellers these days.

I concur the bottom is fine for the Sagaris, though it can take longer to drive home to SW france than normal as everyone wants to say hi
