well sort of..

Friend has an ageing 90H mk 1 that is mechanically sound but has lived on the streets of London for too long. Covered in dents, bust locks and needing a new hood, he was going to scrap it when he replaced it with a 330cd convertible last week. He just took it for a drive and realised it was too good to scrap (despite being worth fk all), so has offered it to me for a few years if I fix the cosmetic stuff. He's also offered to pay for the parts, just need to sneak a supercharger in then wink

Looking forward to my MX-5 baptism!

Don't worry about the condition s'long as it's mechanically sound.

You'll be too busy driving the bloody doors off the thing searching out roundabouts to care in the slightest thumbup

Found a picture, the nearside front wing has been hit since but probably just easier to get a replacement from a breakers/ebay and fit myself. Looking forward to plenty of roof-down fun, going to be garaged at home/work so don't really need a new roof scratchchin

The thing is, I quite like the none-pristine look, its a modern day shagged MGB, only difference this won't *hopefully* leave me stranded. That is a piece of paper wedged into the passenger door to hold up the window. That'll be the first fix then.

So he is giving you a car and paying for it to be fixed up? Can't really go wrong..... Have a good year or two in her (I know this is going to be very unpopular BUT I would suggest you put the details in writing because otherwise we will see another thread on this in a year or two)..
