Thinking these look like nice value at the moment.

Can anyone who has owned one give me the good, bad, and ugly?

Research so far shows they are better than most in terms of maintenance?

Better to go for an 88-89+ ABS model?

Anything else to consider? For around £35k, would you look at 348 or 355?

Cheers

I have had a 328 great car. But before i give any advice about it. I suggest you make your own mind up regarding what you want. A 328,348 or a 355. The newer model is always going to perform better than the last, and cost more to service/maintain. So now it has to be down to what YOU like the look of, and what shouts "yes" to you.
The question you are asking may fill a few pages because its wide open to argument as to which is better in every ones personal opinion.

Thanks. The slightly cheaper to run element of the 328 appeals.

I have to say that from a looks point of view they all appeal. I quite like the classic lines of the 328, but then again like the newer models too.

I'd heard quite negative things about the 348, but not sure if they were founded?

So had I but bought one anyway and have not regretted it. On my second and in 3 years have not had any major issues. The aircon has a mind of its own and apart from a few minor niggles has been faultless. Passed the MOT last week first time and is going in for a service wednesday week at Ferrari Swindon. I'll amend this post if that doesn't go to plansmile

I was also looking at the 328 as grew up in the Magnum 308 era but felt the 348 had more appeal and the performance and noise edged it for me.

PS I'll be honest though if I had enough savings for the 355 I probably would still go for one of them

From other threads on here it seems that buying a 348 can potentially be the incredible bargain of the Ferrari marque as they appear to be significantly less than a 355 or 328. I think others have had a bit of trouble when selling them outright to dealers who want to pull the car apart to check it or offer a very low trade price. From the owners point of view, it appears to be all about finding one that's had consistent money spent on it and getting a very thorough inspection done before buying. I must add though that I have no direct experience of 348s as I'm in a 355, I'm just trying to summarise what some other owners have written on here. Angelis has a blog with running costs etc of his somewhere....

My totally subjective 2p worth is that given a choice of a 348 or 328 as a second car (or indeed first car for me as I don't commute or have a family, and live in London with ample public transport), I'd stretch to the 328. I just prefer the older looks (the older the Fezza, the more adoring the passers by I think!), you're not really gonna notice a 10% power deficit over a 348, it's apparently a bit cheaper to run and easier if you want to do the work yourself, and still significantly quicker than almost anything on the roads these days anyway and probably feels like it's going twice as fast!

God, after all of that, I really want to drive a 328 now! Or even just be taken for a spin? Any offers anyone?! I'll return the favour!

Thanks,

Useful food for thought.

Got to sell the 997, move to the new house, build the garage, and then look for one! Certainly seem to be some lovely low mileage 328's out there that is for sure.

May I ask how come you don't sell 348s out of interest?

Interesting, thanks.

I notice there are only 8 348's on PH, versus loads more 355's and 328's?
