NSL road, clear vision of about a mile. Didderer in his Vectra doing 40MPH in front of me, I pull out to overtake, harmlessly. Everything ok thus far.

I then pull back in to be met by him deciding to accelerate about 2 inches from my fking bumper, with his fogs, main beam and hazards on! He then decides to follow me for the next half hour of my journey in this manner. Me slightly spooked at this point, decided to take the back way home, through the lanes, back roads etc with him still glued on my rear bumper!

He must have been following me for about 20 minutes around the middle of nowhere before he finally turns off with a huge bellow of his horn, window wound down shouting etc.

Now what the fk? All this because I overtook him!

Some people need to be shot.

Take him to the nearest police station.

Leave him to it.

What you need is a car that is loud and spits flames, people will think twice about doing the above then.

Try a TVR.

Is it because he expected you be in a fire-breathing tuned Skyline and it turned out to be a crappy Fiat instead?

Frankly I share his disappointment. hehe

I hope there won't be a next time!

It worried me to be honest, I've never experienced anything like it!

If someone tailgates you again just slow down using engine braking then hoof it if they try to get past you.

hehe

Have you seen what I drive?

I don't think he wanted to overtake me back to be honest, I think he wanted me to pull over for a few choice words..

If you're in a higher performance car piss him off so he concentrates on you rather than the road, then attack a corner too fast and see if you can get him to crash.

Edit: just notices Fiat, above advice not likely to work.

He owns a Doblo van himself.

It's my first car, I can't really insure anything 'Pistonheady' so I'm stuck with it for now!

No I realise that! smile

From your login I pictured you roaring past in a 700bhp monster with flames shooting out, the reality was, as I say, a tiny bit of a disappointment! biggrin

Slow down to about 5mph and if he tries to overtake, block him.

Absolutely drives them mental. Then the first time you get a proper bit of road, do a running launch and Vmax it.

Nah, that is far too subtle. Middle pedal on full, that will wake him up.

I had something similar happen with a local nutter in a van. By some coincidence I happened to know where he lived so I just too him back home, pulled up outside and pointed at his house. He didn't follow me when I drove off!

Happened to me before but less extreme. Some people are just angry tossers who don't believe a safe overtake is perfectly legal.

Wonder what he would have done if you had stopped scratchchin unfortunately some people think they're invincible in their cars and act like hard men within the confines of their airbag clad chariots.

The guy was a bell end, just put it out of your mind and move on, karma will see to him.
