Simple question I hope.

Is it a good time or a bad time to buy a large engined older barge right now ?

Are prices for these types of cars likely to fall ?

Thanks all.

All depends on what you want and how much you are prepared to spend?

Im looking at Merc E class, BM E32 7 series or possibly Lexus LS400
trying to spend sub £1500.

Wont be doing many miles.

In the £1000-£2000 category depreciation is not really your primary concern anyway, running costs are. You should be using ManMaths (C) anyway to justify buying a barge, and it means justifying poor mpg/high insurance/potential costly repairs by budgeting for adequate running costs. This, in turn, means that losing a couple of hundred pounds in depreciation on said barge is not really a concern - it's the price you pay for having the pleasure to drive it.

A good way too look at it would be - so what if it loses £300 in the year I've had it, it's less than a month's rental for a mind numbing shopping cart.
