Hi all,

Just been quoted £110+VAT for oil change and filter on my E90 320d by my local independent, is that a reasonable sort of price for that?

BMW obviously quoted my £245 for the same job.

I'd have a go at doing it myself, though I’m not living anywhere were I could do it easily with a lack of facilities.

Any help appreciated.

sounds reasonable - the oil alone would be c £60-70, filter £15 ish, a bit of labour?

Just got back from having my e90 320d serviced. Was quoted £218 for an oil service by my local (and supplying) dealer in North Wales. I thought that this was a bit steep for an oil service and as I travel around Wales a lot decided to phone around. A BMW dealer in south wales quoted £ 182 (vat inclusive) but one in Pembrokeshire quoted £115!. I went there this morning at 8:30 as arranged got the car back at 10:15 serviced, washed, and was told that no extra work was required (always refreshing!). Paid £115. Moral of the story: ring around.

Cheers guys, sounds ok then, factoring in the 'Surrey Effect' the quotes i got arent too bad. Another indy near me quoted £130 so thats about average.

Supplying your own oil may save you some £'s as well. Saved me approx £60 for a dealer oil change
