Alone in Dubai
Discussion
Hi All,
I have a just secured a very short consultative contract in Dubai. Which is great news but what do I do in the evenings and weekends? I think the weekend is Thursday Friday?
I'm only there for 2 weeks but still, the thought of eating alone and being bored alone are making me re-think....which I can't !!! I need the work/revenue.
I have been before and the two weeks will be at the begining of June...start of world cup!
I guess there are sports bars??....with the footie on??

There are two water parks that I know of, the Wild Wadi at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the Atlantis.
It depends what you want to do really, there's the aquarium and Burj Khalifa (tallest building in the world) next to Dubai Mall. There's skiing in the Mall of the Emirates. Dhow cruises up Dubai Creek, Friday brunches are popular also.
There's plenty of nice beaches, most of them are part of a hotel and you need to pay a day membership but the beach at Jumeirah Beach Park is free/very cheap and has a good view of the Burj Al Arab.
There's plenty of nightlife, Barasti at the Meridien at Dubai Marina is good. The Irish Village at the Aviation Club near the airport is also good but it gets really busy. There's a few British style pubs, the Red Lion in the Metropolitan is popular.
Stick a post on the Middle East forum as well as there are a good few PHers in Dubai.
