Anyone going to Goodwood Revival?
Discussion
As per the title really
Are you going on period clobber, or as you would normally (I fullt accept this could be the same for some of you)
What is it like?
I've never been before but I love old cars and I feel it is something I really need to see this year.
My mate and his wife are also going and we are likely to camp together if we can. Camp as in caravan/tent ....not the dressing up

It's jolly good fun, as long as the sun's shining. If the weather's poor then it'll be like being stuck anywhere else in crap weather. Seems to be getting busier every year though, and consequently much harder to move around and see the sights.
Always dress smart, if not in period clothes. If you've got deep pockets then why not buy an outfit from some of the stalls at the Revival?

I went last year and it was a fantastic day out. I really wish I had dressed up as I think you would feel much more part of it, though it doesn't really matter if you don't.
There is so much going on and you get so close to the action that I think it's pretty hard to rival. Seeing Sir Stirling doing what he does best from about 3 feet away was a humbling experience...
Have a great time.

I'd go for something period looking (if not strictly so).
I had a pair of cords and a tweed jacket (£7 from my local charity shop!
) when I went a few years ago.
You expect to feel a bit self-conscious, but so many people dress the part it really is the McLaren jacketed jeans wearers who look out out of place.
It's a great event, might well go this year.

I've been every year since the first one and would not miss it for the world. I always dress 'period' (tweed etc) but if you don't then at least dress smart ie not jeans and trainers.

As mentioned, those that don't make an effort are the ones that stand out.
To be honest my Goodwood look is pretty much 'me' anyway!
