Hi All

The spyder I bought in Feb has its Lambo warranty expiring in a few weeks time. When I purchased a few months (1500 miles) ago I had a health check done by Lambo Manchester and all was fine.

Is there any recommended check I could get done again before the warranty expires in a few weeks time to try and highlight/fix any issues under warranty before it expires? I would kick myself if something happened right after warranty expiring and I hadnt had it looked over?

... or is the fact it had a health check 1500 miles ago good enough do you think?

Any advice appreciated... Shame Lambo won't sell an extended warranty, I do like piece-of-mind!

Get it down to Lambo Wycombe before the warranty runs out

They will check it all over and find anything that can be claimed before it expires

Thats what I do

... any idea what they charge for that sort of thing?

Do Wycombe do MOT's as well?

No charge to you for warranty work (and they will find a bit)

Yes they can sort MOT's too

It would have been an insurance backed warranty from someone like the RAC, not a Lamborghini dealer warranty.

buy a warrantywise or similar one. thats what some of the major indies use on their stock. i think also lambobrum said thats what they offer (please correct me if wrong!)

cant say for sure what they are like but i had a 500 pound claim paid fine. max claim limit is 10k per claim i think up to a total max of the value of the purchase price of the car (if you select that level of cover)

You must be priveleged, I really wanted to use Wycombe but being d*&ked around on price, especially £170+VAT for an MOT that they don't even do themselves.

Why they charging £175 for an MOT?

My Ferrari main dealer charge me the standard MOT fee when they sort my car out and they have to take it off site as they don't MOT's.

That is exactly why I just gave up with Wycombe Lambo Service. I am a fairly new owner and looking for a reliable local place to look after what I hope to be the first of many Lambo's for me, its a shame as I went to Wycombe open day and recently had a key programmed there and enjoyed the service, but £170+VAT for an MOT means that is the end of that. Other Lambo main dealers quoted £54.

Well it's illegal to charge that much for an MOT.

The maximum price they can charge for an MOT is here:

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/motoring/owningavehicl...

Unless they are doing one of these blag pre-MOT inspections for you?

They do not do the MOT themselves, so presumably they have a mark up for taking the car along and getting it done. Still never mind, I did question it on email and got no response so my car will be off to London most likely.

Come to Brum, we'll do the MOT etc while you wait and I'll get you a better deal on the warranty.

Might get you out for a blast in our new toy too?!

I'm not after a warranty, I am after some sort of decent inspection before the official lambo one expires in a few weeks, so any faults or niggles can be corrected under warranty before it expires.... and of course the MOT smile I had the healt check done when I bought the car 3 months / 1000 miles ago so not looking to break the bank, just after some piece of mind...

So you dont want to buy another warranty, you just want to try and get some work done for free before your current warranty expires ?
If I took a car for an MOT and they had to travel elsewhere to get it done I would expect to pay a labour charge.

what's wrong with doing that? If the car is under warranty he is entitled to have any necesary work done. It's not for free, the origional purchaser, purchased the car with a warranty, he is just doing what any sensible person would do.

you must be a garages dream customer. I took my car to Emblem for an MOT, they used another company. I was charged just the standard MOT cost. A good garage will do this as they will want future business from you.

Peter101 is on my wave length.

Its pretty standard stuff to try and make sure the car is tip-top before the manufacturer warranty expires.

... and I would have paid a little more for them to do the MOT, but £54 > £170 is daft. MOT sorted locally, inspection at Wycombe next week.
