Great old racing photo
Discussion

I've just happened upon this photo, I think its wonderful.
Can anyone put a time/place/event on it?
What can we see?
Lotus Elan
MG BGT
Zagato Aston of sorts
E-type
Porsche 356's
Various Ferraris including a 250 GTO
Cobra/AC of sorts
I'd like to know what the following are -
- 19 and # 7 (Alfa Romeo?)
- 136 at the bottom
And the car thats pulled in front of the # 75 - bang in the middle with a bit of space all around - funny looking thing.
Anyone? Its a fantastic line up of cars, there must be huge differential in performance. I guess It must be one of the really big events at Spa/Nordschliefe/Monza/Le Mans etc to have a great big line up like that!

OK, anorak on (and without opening any old mags in the spare bedroom that could help in this) ...
- by the number of cars, and simply "what it looks like" I say Nurburgring 1,000 kms
- the first GT40 appearance was Nurburgring 1964, and it had wire spoke wheels, so that fits
- I see Ferrari LMs and 250 GTOs (a couple with the 64 type badywork), Porsche 904s and 365s, E-Type Jags and Alfa Guilias and TZ, Lotus Elan and Elite, MGB and TVR
- No 36 has me stumped?
- No7 & 19 Abarth?
- The small rear engined car half way along I recon is DB Panhard or Bonnet or something French with small engine
- 136 is a Jaguar D-Type with special bodywork I recon
How am I doing so far? JOHN
