Moulded light covers/side windows

Does anyone have any links to a company that can mould light covers and curved side windows, what would be the material of choice for this? Lexan? Perspex? Any other options?

I was reading a book where the author made his own by shaping a mould then drilling very small holes in it and using a home vacuum cleaner to mould the clear material. I will try and find it out when i go home for lunch.
