Top Steering UJ

Hi

Has anyone used the top steering UJ suggested on the Useful Links page available from Rally Design?

I have bought one but am having problems getting the triangular end to fit, It would appear that I need to drill out the pivet point for the clamp and use two bolts (one each side) to secure it.

I would be grateful for any advice?

I successfully fitted the Rally Design part a while back but I seem to remember that you need to rotate the plate a full 180 degrees and give it a bit of a jiggle to get it to fit...

Yes, I had exactly this issue with a joint from Rally Design. They claimed not to be aware of the problem, but I suspect I was not the first to bring this to their attention. I resolved it by drilling out the pin and replacing it with a bolt.




You can see the difference between old (on the left) and new joints in the pic. The old one also came from Rally Design.

I had my steering rack refurbished by BAR Propshafts, Skewen, South Wales, www.barpropshafts.co.uk for £60 + VAT inside 2 hours! What great guys and such good service. It's easy to get the rack on and off, but you will need to get the tracking set after-wards.
