Such a shame, what should have been a happy day for the club and its fans, overshadowed by other footballing disasters; but as I lived in Bradford shortly afterwards I can remember how much it hurt the town.

Also 25 years ago today, the 15 yr old lad who lost his life in a riot at St Andrews, when Leeds fans rioted and a wall collapsed on him.
RIP to all. I agree that it's out of order that we hear more about some football tragedies than others. Losing your life just for going out to enjoy the footie is tragic whoever you support.

I vaguely remember the day, I was down the old Den watching Millwall v Plymouth Argyle in a Div 3 game. We and Bradford city had both been going for top spot, but in the end Bradford won it with Millwall finishing second. It was a good old battle between us and them ( and Hull ) during that season, so when the news filtered through there was concern and sympathy. The film of some of their supporters on fire and the old boy burning in the stand was awful to say the least. Very sad memories
RIP to the victims of the Bradford fire.
