Performance problems?

It's gone all delayed-action: the server takes yonks to return the initial page.asp (be that forum.asp, topic.asp etc) and then it's fine. I've just had one topic.asp take 22 seconds to be served and then all the other goodies arrived within a second or two. (Using the Safari web inspect-o-tron to measure)

Yep, bout 6.30 this morning pages were taking yonks to load. Seems ok now

Looking at the logs, it seems our caching servers were struggling a bit at around the time you were having problems. If it happens again then please let me know.

Mr Will, 6.14a.m. 12th May - pages taking ages to display - approx 10-15 secs. Using Firefox.

Thanks for your help, Pete was on the site late last night and also noticed slowdown. We will look into it and see what we can find.

In the mean time, please let us know if anything changes or if you spot any more clues.

If I remember correctly Sunday & definitely Monday at approx. 3-4am pages were loading very slowly.

Yup - performance has been up and down for the last 4 hours.

Early morning between 2am and around 6am the site is responding very slowly to requests and there are a lot of error reports being generated.

During that time we have a lot of dealer feeds importing into the database and thus I think it is related to the slow down of the site. I am going to stick some monitoring in front of the system to look at this through a 24 hour period and work out what is causing the blockage.
