Light Blue Miura spotted A419 yesterday

... that would be the sort-of local to you owner playing out with car yet again!
: pedantic mode / on:
The original chassis for the Miura was not seen before the Turin motorshow in 1965 and the first prototype Miura car not seen before the Geneva show of 1966 and so obviously the first 'production' cars were not built before then...
...all of which is a little less than fifty years ago!

The car you saw was this recently restored Miura SV, seen here in 2008 at LCUK's Annual Dinner weekend that year:

dribble

If the chassis was at the 1965 Turin motorshow and the prototype a year later in 1966 surely the design would have been started a while earlier so I could still be right!

Lovely looking car, I do know of another one fairly local but believe it is orange but not sure which variant.

at the 1965 Turn show, Ferruccio Lamborghini spoke with many of the Italian carrozeria about suitable clothing for a car based on that mid-engined chassis.
He was unable to ask Touring who had made the bodywork for the 350GT and some of the 400GT variants as they were or were about to go out of business.
Nuccio Bertone did not approach Ferruccio Lamborghini at the show directly but was asked by him why he seemed uninterested in making a bid to do the work. Bertone was reluctant as he was unaware of Touring's position at the time and at least uncertain that Automobili Lamborghini would ever produce a car with such a chassis and was concerned that it wasn't just a publicity stunt for that show.
What is certain is that the car's bodywork was not designed before that time though there remains conjecture as to the actual designer. Both Marcello Gandini and Giorgetto Giugiaro have been credited with the design although Giugiaro had left Bertone by 1965 anyway and certainly Gandini is most often given the nod as the car's designer.
Without question, both Lamborghini and Bertone went on to be a fine example of Italian businesses working together for many years after the Miura was designed.

There is an orange Miura quite close to your stretch of the timber but there is also 'the' best recreation of the Miura Jota in the Cotswolds area as well. It's quite a surprise that you haven't heard it if you live within 30 miles of location name deleted to save the distress in that part of the world... 1960's straight through exhausts were street legal in those days but try telling that to the latest jobsworth traffic plod to stop you.
In the meantime, have this:

Enjoying the Alfa David?!
It is outside now and I'm not driving it because I'm having to do that 'working' thing a little this afternoon - clearly this is the fault of the GTV since I'd not be here writing this if I was driving it...
Also I wish to complain about the delightfully aggressive exhaust note of the V6 and am appalled at the way you can see the rear shoulders of the car in the wing mirrors as you drive along and not-at-all distressed by the way the car just swallows fuel like it was going out of fashion just because I drive it quite quickly. I'm equally upset by the way in which I could care less about the near-total lack of boot and back seat space which would've made it easier to take some boxes to my storage unit yesterday in one trip. Instead, I had to go three times, hence more noise being made and more petrol being used.
As mentioned the other day, la bella will be becoming T888 GTV in the next two weeks or so...
And also in another few days, you should take delivery of your 6GE voucher as promised!

Just caught it out of the corner of my eye yesterday.
I was heading to the M4 junction when I saw it coming the other way, looked beautiful and still had immense road presence for a 50 year old design!
I saw that for a nano second as well, must have been a couple of minutes behind you.I was heading to the M4 junction when I saw it coming the other way, looked beautiful and still had immense road presence for a 50 year old design!
