Help, No maps found, TT Go510

I recently borrowed my Mother's GO 510 for a trip to Italy.
After switching it back on, I've been greeted with a message saying no maps found.
I've tried resetting the unit, and after talking to TT customer support, it seems my only option is a new map for £70.00!!
Can I get another map, without paying TT's prices?
