I apologise in advance for the monotony of my query. It seems every day someone is asking about suggested new vehicles and what to go for... But i am truly in a pickle.

A little background.

I currently am running a 118d msport as my Company car. Its good. Stop start efficiency, good fuel return and cheap for tax purposes. Its pretty comfy and handles well when you want to rag it. It may not be the most beautiful car but as my second car ever i am not complaining! I have had it for nearly 3 years now and it is time to change.

What the hell do i go for??? despite the car being economical and good fun i just dont think i could hack having the same old again.

I work traveling around the country.. so lots of M way ploughing but a fair bit of fun and twisties also....i must also admit a fair chunk of time sat in city traffic. So my new car must be a balance of economy and fun. I quite fancy something with a bit of "Funk" too ( bet you never heard that as a requisite for a new car!)

So i would require a mileage of around 20-25k per annum and have a budget of about £330 per month for payments.. it goes without saying that this must be a new car.

I must also state that i am not a "power fiend" im not looking for the most power available. just interested to hear peoples thoughts and suggestions as i really am stuck.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

Jon

How about an audi A5? I'm sure you could pick up one of the more basic 2.0 TDIs within your budget.

I don't know about his policy but our company car policy states you have to have 4 doors.

I would absolutley kill for a little elise!! would be dreamy... if a tad impractical. think it may well be out of my price range though. (My Ideal car if a total pipe dream would be a Europa!!!)

Our Company Car policy does not stipulate 4 doors. Its only a small company and i think i can try and flatter my eyes at someone!

Alfa Guilietta with whatever super-modern diesel engine they are offering it with?

Mid sized 'premium' hatch like the 1-Series, but with a bit of added Italian interest?

And the Fiat/Alfa engines are known to be really good.

How about a Scirroco diesel??? Should come in at around that kind of a price and reasonable on tax too.

If 2 doors are possible then 2.0 MX5, Honda CRZ, Clio 200 cup could all be fun options.
