We need help on the TVRCC track day at Cadwell on the 1st June. The price is £161 + £5.00 for a day membership.

At present we have 50 booked in and we need to fill it to break even. So if any of you want a great day out on a fabulous track amongst decent drivers please book and come along.

It seems that most TVR owners just want to polish there cars and talk about how big there engine is which is quite sad. Your help would be appreciated.

A few GT3 RS's would be good

I'd love to be there but I have an op booked on that day. Bad timing by me, could have delayed by a week...

I hope its dry and sunny.

Please elucidate David as my comment was based on the fact that:

The TVRCC Track day EVENT attracts 50 TVR owners whereas the TVRCC Chatsworth EVENT attracts 600 TVR owners. smile

maybe cost?

Your average track day is about £350 with food and accomodation thrown in, and this is Cadwell, Oulton is another £50.(Brackenborough overnighters add in a few more £££) Chatsworth is a tank of fuel, may be £100 for the day? Your polish is unlikely to get chipped and you dont need a set of track day tyres. Coupled with the fact that making it sound loud is apparantly really important, the cost of silencers would really throw the costs outside of a perceived 'valued' day.

I am with you, it either goes to show that they want a fast car and having no idea how to drive it well are happy to polish it or something else. Discuss

Damn, was very tempted by this, but it's half term that week so I am more likely to be playing toy cars.

Well, its the day after bank holiday weekend and most people will be working, its half term week, as PetrolTed said, and therefore a lot of people are probably away with the kids, Its the TVR racing at Snett only 2 days before, so maybe a little more thought could have put into the date.

Cadwell also has a certain reputation wink All in my humble opinion

The reason you get so many at Chatsworth is it is a good venue, on a Sunday, a catch up with old buddies, cheap and well organised.

I wanted to book but it's the week before Le-Mans so I've booked the track day at Oulton Park instead

Just called the club office to book this, fearing that it might have been fully booked, obviously not as popular as I had thought. Looking forward to it

I think making a comparison to a meet like Chatsworth is bit like comparing apples and oranges. Ignoring the cost difference, one being a working day and the other a Sunday probably has a big effect. I cetrianly thought twice before booking and looked at other track day options to save using a days holiday.

I'm booked.

I've been to four trackdays this year (Cadwell, Snetterton, Brands x2) and they've all been fully booked (in fact I've noticed that TD organisers seem to be taking on bigger numbers than in previous years - too many in my view).

Lots of modest cars (eg diesel Nova, old BMW saloons, Clios, etc) so I don't think the cost argument holds up.

People who simply get massive fun from testing their capabilities and getting an adrenaline rush.

It does seem that T450t is right and that most TVR owners appear to fall in the polishing and talk category.

Cadwell is 3.5 hours from me; I avoid accomodation costs simply by getting up early !
Track day tyres are certainly the exception rather than the rule, and 'making it sound loud is apparantly really important' is really too silly to bother rebuffing.

Oddly, five years ago or so there would be about four exclusive TVRCC trackdays a year and they were always full - I can't work out why they now seem to be dying out.

look how many people decat, why do they do this? in search of more power? If they were using it to start with they would be on a track day and they are not. TVR events see who has the loudest TVR. More willy waving? Maybe it needs a rebuff wink

Have you tried offering places to Hexham Horsless Carriages (TVR Dealer) as they
used to offer track days at Croft before the noise issue killed that track?
