Whats the best way? Unfortunately this is slightly complicated that he's now a reasonably well know film director in Hollywood so is insulated by layers of management/flunkies.

I last was in contact with him in the early 90's and whilst clearing out old files a few weeks ago I came across some letters he'd sent me so I decided to reply to the address he'd supplied then - obviously thats a long shot.

I've e mailed his agent - no reply.

I'm not looking to get work/sell him anything - just want to get in touch again as we were good friends at school, catch up and see how he is.

He's not on facebook or any social sites.

Whats the best way to get in touch without appearing like a stalker?

I'd say write to his agent and any address you might have detailing that you were friends at school with some funny stories/anecdotes and include as many contact details as you can provide and see what happens.

I'm guessing they must get loads of "I was mates with x at school" from all sorts so it might help to stand out a bit.

No chance. Suffice to say he's well known enough to have plenty of nut jobs / out of work actors / chancers trying to get his contact details - hence the difficulty.

A letter to the agency/agent is probably the best idea...an e mail is likely to get binned as spam.

You do realise he'll be thinking the same about you ie that you're a nutjob and what do you want.

Well I'd hope he'd recognise my name and get in touch, if he doesnt then c'est la vie.

And what was it that made you want to reignite your friendship with the extremely wealthy Hollywood film director?

We lost touch for a few reasons and I've thought about getting back in touch a few times but just havent. Finding the old letters/photos the other week brought some memories back and I decided to try and get back in touch.

If I wanted to get something from him I'd have been back in touch a few years ago when he hit the big time.
