German Tuner Reveals 205mph Audi RS6

Double-ton RS6 makes 690bhp

This is the latest tuning package for the Audi RS6, a range of tweaks by German firm Reifen Koch (no sniggering at the back there) that brings the already ballsy Audi to 690bhp and 583lb ft of torque.

We're generally a little uncomfortable with tuned cars here on PistonHeads - taking a spanner to an ECU, fitting alloys of dubious taste and a custom exhaust are unlikely to be changes that improve upon a car whose original R&D budget probably stretched into the billions.

But the Reifen Koch RS6 is a little different. Yes, there are laughably huge 22-inch alloys wrapped in 265/30 rubber and yes, a custom exhaust is present, but - crucially - the ECU upgrades that liberate such prodigious power (118bhp and 104lb ft more than in the standard RS6) allow a top-speed of 205mph. And that we like.

It's certainly a very fast way to transport a Labrador, should you choose to send an RS6 Avant for the treatment...

Yuk. The MTM version looks much nicer and they got 730bhp out of it.

Can't the standard RS6 do 200mph just by getting it delimited?

Quite like it- including those wheels.

Good increase in bhp and top speed figures too, can't argue with that.

Why is this rather gash one featured rather than the far cooler 730bhp MTM one?

Mmmmm, 213mph.

Horrible rims and stretched it seems. Why bling a car with a subtle sleeper ethos? Because they can. Classier rims and I might like it.

Mmmmm, 213mph.
213... at Nardo?

That's *fast*...

Nardo has a hands-off speed of about 150mph (the speed where the car will go in a straight line with no steering input, due to the banking).

At 213mph the MTM would have been cornering *really* hard.

Wheels are, for want of a better word, GASH. I too was under the impression that, sans limiter, a standard RS6 would crack 200mph. It certainly should do with 575bhp!

My business partner has the MTM 730bhp version and I must say it is absolutely epic. The power is just intoxicating and its actually still quite a q car in my eyes. I can testify to the fact the 150 leptons can be reached in what feels like a short burst of acceleration. Didn't realise it was good for 213mph. Wow. I can now safely say I drove a 200mph+ Audi yesterday!

I'd love a C5 Allroad with a tuned-til-it-pops 2.7T in it. OT but still biggrin

Hands up who wouldn't want to go 200mph on some halfords spec wheels likely made from cheese?

Never mind the speed, I am liking the semi cloaking device they have installed to the car, should be able to dodge the speed cameras with that - I want it!

Yep, the need for bigger wheels and riding a foot up comes ahead of having 'normal' sized wheels without stretched tyres and actually looking a bit hunkered down!
