I've bagged a dozen quails eggs.

Been googling for a nice recipe and there are squillions...

And I trust PH more than most other "internet people" smile

What should I do with them? Something for my dinner tonight.

Cheers

Make some mini scotch eggs!

Poach them and have them with fresh British asparagus

Fry them and have mini fried breakfasts as a starter. (mini bacon [cut a rasher in two], chipolata, quarter a slice of toast, half a cherry tomato etc.

Have them in a salad.

Hard boil them and pickle them in a good quality vinegar, maybe cider or white wine vinegar, then add a few of your favourite spices! mmm! snacktastic!

Yep, blanch some new asparagus and top with a few lightly boiled or poached quails eggs. Drizzle with a bit of clarified butter and dress it up with your favourite baby herbs. Serve on a trendy shaped china platter.

/that's £12.95 please

Lightly boiled with a salad I think! Thanks for the sugesstions, I think I have some asparagus handy too!

I would poach them, but I suck royally at poaching eggs, every 3rd one with chicken eggs works for me, with two wasted/mashed up/disolved in the pan. I dont want to waste my little cadbury mini-eggs.

You need half a dozen Scallops fried in bacon fat to go with it too!

What Jamie Oliver did in Spain the other week looked nice.

Take a sliced French stick, toast it, rub on some fresh tomato, a slice of Serrano ham, topped with a fried Quail's egg.

Make three of these and then eat them for breakfast whilst sitting outside on the balcony overlooking the pool and the Spanish countryside.

Throw them in the bin and get some decent sized chicken or duck eggs?

Or (like I had in Vietnam) hard boil, peel, dip in salt and munch.

If oyu do poach or boil them and want them soft / runny, be aware they take a lot less time than a normal egg due to size (seems self evident, but I overcooked the first time I did them).

The last time I used them was for a tuna nicoisse which I posted on here.
