Looking at the extended shipping forecast for this weekend , I know that they lump the traditional forecast areas in to large chunks, but the forecast suggests "winds will fall below strength".

What strength?

What are you intending to do?

Ferry, boating?

Winds in the channel this weekend are forecast to be around force two.

The most reliable weather I've found;

http://www.bischofberger.info/meteosail/eu/uk/inde...

I've used this for about 4 years now, normally spot on for wind speed.

Across Biscay Sat/Sun in a motherfker cruise liner. Wondered if it was going to require Sturgeon.

I'm pretty sure they'll have their own fish on board already.

You might want to take some Stugeron though, just in case.

wink

Weather for 5 days ahead just isn't reliable I'm afraid. Even 3 days ahead isn't perfect. Have a look on Thursday/Friday and it should give you a good idea.

At the moment, it's showing almost nothing at all, F1-2 for the weekend, but it's possible this will change.
