Hi folks,

Booked our honeymoon in August with Kuoni, ten days in Komandoo.....bliss. smile

Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what to expect, and what to take? I'd thought some t-shirts and shorts, mask and snorkel, and a few books. We're going all-inclusive gold to try and keep costs as fixed as we can.

Many thanks.

Expect a tropical paradise. I posted some pictures in another maldives thread from when we went in march with Kuoni.

They do hire snorkeling gear if it's of any use - IIRC 8USD a day with the sixth free. Beware the arrival drink, mine was foul and try and keep the ear plugs you get for the seaplane journey as we weren't offered any on the return leg.

I'm sure you'll have a great time, enjoy!

The only thing you should buy which you don't need for a normal beach holiday is an underwater camera... even if you're only snorkelling - get on ebay/wherever and get a case for your digital camera ASAP.

If your even slightly interested in wildlife/astronomy/women in bikinis take some binoculars, the sky at night has little or no light pollution. I could see the Milky Way and lots of shooting star thingies.

I got the squits, so maybe some medicine for that too.

Went there last year. Simply stunning holiday.

Take a mask and snorkel and some fins. Its worth shelling out a bit more money to get a good mask before you go. Theres no fun in stopping to empty your mask every 5 minutes.

Other than that you need shorts and t-shirts, you won't need shoes. I wore flip flops to dinner a breakfast, that is the only time I wore shoes for the 10 days we were there.

You have made a good decision going AI Gold too wink We were very glad to be AI after talking to a few other guests that werent !!

You will love it, it really is like being on your own island paradise.
Oh and remember to put sun cream on your feet. It hurts if you dont hehe
