Why not? Some people spend an awful lot more than that on a bit of canvas with some paint on it. I know which I'd rather look at.........
The guy that bought the 177 to stick in his lounge also bought another to track. Nice. I just think the purchase of 10 is obviously someone who is very stupid.

Phil.

Well the guy who bought 10 is distributing them to his family etc, that to me is not a waste (just exceptionally generous).

The difference between this and a canvas, the creator of ne canvas intended his work to be hung proudly on the wall, Im sure Aston Martin did not have this in mind when creating this car.

If you love it that much, you could probably buy one to use, then have the whole thing molded to make a replica to hang on the wall? £1.2m gives you some budget to create a non working "replica". With this much money, im sure said man could create a "garage" like this:

I know "if you can, then why not", however, I just hate seeing modern day (rare) cars not being used, no scrap that, I hate ne car not being used if its fully capable of doing so....

Since many of the wealthy Middle Eastern countries are tax-free, possibly not? And with regards to extras, I didn't think the One-77 had an options list i.e. it comes as it comes.. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I know of a chap who has a spitfire (not a model, replica, reproduction....its the real deal!) hanging from the ceiling in his kitchen. A waste? Not really, the fella is fanatical and I dare say he enjoys eating breakfast looking at it.

The math of this is very simple.. the articles reporting these figures have made a big boo-boo.

The car's sell for £1.2m that's POUNDS STERLING, NOT DOLLARS...

so $23m (US Dollars) is roughly £12m plus all the shipping and admin fee's etc.

Also the total cost was very dependent on the exchange rate at the time the deal was struck.

I think you'll find that the actual cost is £1.3m...... Which means it should really be called the 1377 !
