No doubt DSG is very clever and it might be "the best £1,300 you can spend on a Golf R", but I wouldn't part with £30k+ for such a banal car in the first place.

In a performance model like the GTI or R I wouldn't want a DSG box, with a V6 or a Diesel motor I would take one everytime it was available.

It's just a posh automatic.

Great for a play on a road test, arsing around with launch control and all the modes, but deep down it's just an automatic.

360cs fair enough, m3 csl, ok, they are there to make you lap quicker... But a road car Golf? No thanks! Yes for a cock about as part of my job, rotting about for a day in one... But when I put my name dow for £30,000+ for one, I'd bottle it and go good old involving flexible reliable manual smile
