ASTON MARTIN PARTNERS WITH NIKE BASKETBALL TO INTRODUCE THE NIKE KOBE BRYANT
Aston Martin has partnered with Nike Basketball to develop two pairs of exclusive basketball shoes, being introduced on Thursday 13 May at the Nike Basketball Signature Space at the Staples Center, Los Angeles.
Named the Nike Kobe Bryant (Aston Martin Edition) footwear pack, and including the Nike Hyperdunk (Aston Martin DB9 Edition) and the Nike Zoom Kobe V (Aston Martin Edition), the limited edition trainers commemorate the viral webfilm released in 2008, picturing Kobe Bryant jumping over an Aston Martin DB9 Volante. The short clip resulted in a groundswell of consumer interest in both brands, ultimately leading to this high-magnitude collaboration between the iconic athletic-lifestyle company and Aston Martin.
Inspired by a combination of Aston Martin products, including the elegant DB9 and the One-77 supercar, this unique collection incorporates craftsmanship, genuine materials, and attention to detail, further advancing Aston Martin and Nike’s continued innovation in iconic design and modern technology.
Event proceeds will de donated to the LA84 Foundation. To learn more about the LA84 Foundation go to http://www.la84foundation.org
Kind regards

Not quite for me (the trainers, not the idea, as it would appear to be a good one), but in contrast, dominance24 believes they are indeed a sick combo

Aston-branded computers, vacuum cleaners, staplers, etc.
Aston Martin will become just another brand. All of this erodes, slowly but surely, the specialness of the name.
Unsurprisingly, the lines from the people here on this latest "brand expansion" seem to be drawn the same way as they are about the Cygnet. I don't find this as offensive as the Cygnet, (can't think of anything that would be), but it adds insult to injury and further cheapens the Aston name.
This sort of thing cannot save the marque, but it can hurt it.

Unlike a pair of sports footwear by a brand that is mostly worn by tracksuited 'yoof' and yardie wanna-be's.

Aston have traditionally been more restrained in their sale of cheap rubbish with their brand on, I hope they continue to do so....
