I made a new vault last night and decided (for a reason unknown to even myself) delete the old one. However, I didn't read the manual before doing so and what I did was to remove the vault from Aperture but not delete it as well. Now it is stuck on my external hard drive and is taking up space - I can't delete it from the drive directly because it is locked and I can't seem to reconnect to it in Aperture either.

What is the solution..? confused

hmm- i use aperture, but havent used the vault facility.

when you say the old vault is locked- find the file in a finder window- you should be able to right click on the vault, and click 'get info' - at the bottom of the window that pops up should be a bit marked sharing & permissions. click the little arrow to drop down the options, and you should be able to change the persmission from admin to everyone- then you should be able to drag the whole old vault to the trash.

i hope that goes some way to helping!
