Rear and Front ARB Bushes?

Hi there,

I have seen the alternative parts list for the Cerbera...and that it lists the FRONT ARB bush as a Ford unit...1632605

Trying source this from my local motor factors...

My front ARB bush is a 25mm jobbie...anyone know which car it is off...

And does anyone know what the rear is off...

Assorted size roll bars were fitted to various cars.

I'd go out and measure it and then order a set of Powerflex bushes from Steve Heath. Lots of details listed on his site.

Cheers for this....I think you have a point regarding this didn't realise the sizes varied that much...makes going to Ford a waste of time then?

IIRC there are three sizes of ARB rear bush, and two for the front. The poly bushes SH does are cheap enough that there almost isn't much point in going through all the effort of trying to match them to a Ford part.

I've replaced mine with both the Ford items and the PowerFlex ones at various stages and the PowerFlex ones are far superior items.

Don't waste your time (and money) on the Ford ones.

Done ordered from Sue at Steve Heath...only problem is the delay as Powerflex had a fire at the factory which has delayed production..thanks for the heads up though...plus they are purple

Just replaced my rear AR bushes yesterday with Powerflex and what a difference!!

Also found one of the fixing bolts had the thread stripped off and was bent!
So much for the full TVR dealer service history!
As it looks like all the bushes in the back have been replaced by them in the past.

I found that the lower bolt hits the shock spring, so needs the shock to be moved out of the way.
I just removed the top bolt and pushed it back.


I've done the whole front end with poly bushes last year, need to do the rest of the rear, but after Le Mans I think.

Re the rear ARB bushes there are some new(ish) low profile ones out that avoid the bolt hitting the spring. Give Racing Green a call, my car was the first they fitted them to, significant improvement on the original design.

I would be very careful about using Polybushes on a Cerbera. I was asking round some of the indy specialists recently but was told absolutely not on a Cerb, they just don't suit it at all and tend to fail prematurely, they burn out apparently.

I would be interested to hear if you have a different experience.

The PowerFlex ones made a massive difference to my car.

I have some seriously crap roads to contend with and after more than 2 years of being pounded by potholes they are still as good as the day they went in (unfortunately other bits of the car didn't last as well).
